​The Parish covers the rural village of Holmesfield and surrounding hamlets including Millthorpe, Cordwell, Horsleygate, Cartledge, Cowley and Fanshawgate. Parts of the Parish are located within the Peak District National Park, the parish comprises spectacular moorlands, farmland and woodlands.

 

The Parish Council has responsibility for the Village Hall and play areas at Holmesfield.

There are nine Parish Councillors, whose contact details and portfolios can be found within the site. The Parish Council meets twelve times a year. ​

We currently have a vacancy on the Parish Council. If you are interested in applying please attend the next meeting of the Parish Council on Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 7.30pm in Holmesfield Village Hall on Vicarage Close.

Meetings commence at 7.30pm on the second Wednesday of the month and are held at Holmesfield Village Hall. Village residents have a right to speak briefly to councillors at monthly meetings on matters of current concern.
